Is this ever actually going to happen? it was marked as 'Planned' in 2021!

What is the point of this 'roadmap'? it seems to bear no relation to what actually happens

Any updates on this? We tried using SG but will not work due to the nature of requirements hosting Australian data.

Its a shame because Shopify does also recommend Render however the lack of aus servers is forcing us to move client apps

This is necessary for any Australian businesses to use this service: data sovereignty is necessary to do ANY government work, and even if you don't work with public services today, there's a good chance you will in future. As a result not having actual data centers based in AU is an immediate killer.

Render is really holding itself back from gaining anything other than small businesses and hobbyists in Australia. I know if i personally built a small app or SAAS on render, if it actually gained traction and grew to a decent size, I'd probably immediately have to move to another host due the above.

+1 I absolutely love using Render, but it's really not ideal having to use a region other than Australia. There's surely enough demand for this to finally happen.

Anurag Goel is there any ETA for the new region? There's been no update for over a year.

Still really want this! The only real drawback of render for me right now

+1 on this. Currently have to jump through a lot of hoops to maintain an Australia deployment for data sovereignty, would much prefer to bring this onto Render with the rest of my infra.

Love the service so far, we were planning to move our 2k/ month worth of infra to render just because the ease of it, however, because the sydney region is not available, we have decided against it.

+1 At the moment its just a matter of time until a big client asks about data sovereignty and we have to leave Render
